Contest Winner Provides Adorable Beach Checklist

The theme of this year’s Great Lakes Water Safety Poster Contest was, “Know Before You Go,” and the winning entry provided a clever checklist of items to collect before going to the beach.

Gore Hill Public School teacher Lindsay Coristine now has a three-peat, with her students winning the design contest three years in a row. In 2019, Lauryn Dewhurst won for her, “You’re Not a Fish, So Wear Your Lifejacket” design, which is featured in our water safety brochures. Last year Ethan Barnewall’s “Luke, I Am Your Father. Swim With Me” Star Wars theme won the contest.

This year’s winner is Mia Ingratta, with her “Safety First” checklist of items to bring to the beach, with lifejacket at the top of the list.

Mia automatically becomes our “Water Safety Hero” of the month for helping keep others safe through her design. and becomes eligible for our annual “Water Safety Superhero” award.
